(Connoisseur-Caliber)
Signed by the noted workshop, "Tausensian," this quite early, superbly nuanced carpet is a masterwork of refined Laver Kirman elegance, exemplifying this style’s distinctive floral presentation emphasizing supreme delicacy and exceptionally evocative, fine-lined drawing. A bejeweled layered medallion hovers above a serenely spacious golden sand reserve, gently rippling with soft striations. Radiating beyond the negative space is a subtle ‘corona’ filled with alternating species of native Persian flowers. This encircling device is met by a reciprocal pale lilac-hued ground tipped with encased starflower palmettes. These inner linings, arranged in a divinely ordered fashion, shift from shades of cobalt to bright royal blue, resting amidst a profusion of daisy-like blossoms with saffron centers. The pile of this wondrous artifact from some 170 years ago was initially closely clipped and, incredibly, has retained medium pile condition
