Two camel riders in Phrygian-style caps ride toward one another while arousing the curiosity and controversy of neighboring exotic fowl perched in the smaller blossoming saplings at left and right. Everybody seems to want a piece of this legendary, robust pear-bearing tree, including leaping rabbits, ravenous goats, and a plethora of lively, long-plumed birds populating its lithe branches. Near the center of this tableau, the indications of distant mountain peaks are evident through thin turquoise lines against the soft parchment background. The Pompeiian red border sees a continual parade of arabesque vinery that swirls around multi-scale flowers and diminutive leaves that glow in multiple shades of green.
