Suspended upon a cream-based matrix of exquisitely varied leafy vines and blossoms, a gracefully drawn striated apricot medallion supports a scalloped, sun-drenched citrine core, creating a luminous island floating on an expanse of precious marine green-blue. A symphony of color, this carpet’s incredible breadth of subtle exotic tonalities including paled coral, robin’s egg blue, peach,and tangerine is energized by rich cinnabar, papaya and Egyptian blue. The drawing throughout is sensitive and precise, eliciting responses from awe to charmed in viewers.
