A true cruciform centerpiece bearing four golden palmettes expands into the shimmering sapphire surround to complete the medallion. Enveloping this zone in successive colorful bands is an organically drawn diamond shape, bedecked by tiny daisies. The glistening color palette has retained the sublimity expected of consummately brewed hues derived from highly curated naturally occurring dye sources. A beautifully baroque border pattern features stylized peonies encased in aureate vinery. One becomes almost transfixed when looking upon this elite rug, so beware that it may very well stop you in your tracks! At approximately 170 to 195 years old, this superb rug was constructed using the softest first shearing of lustrous lamb’s wool from the mountain flocks.
