(High-Collectible) (Featured in catalog Vol. 29, No. 2, back cover)Motasham Kashans are highly regarded for their use of glistening lamb’s wool, impeccably balanced, sensitively rendered designs, and astonishing fineness of weave. This incredibly well-preserved 150-year-old example is no exception and, as a floor or wall piece, presents the enrapturing beauty expected from best of type. The field is awash in shades of soft spice and salmon with a pool of deep oxford blue surrounding the medallion, a wonderfully constructed flower itself that draws from each color represented in the rug. Elegant vines and gracefully arched flowers adorn the uncommonly open field and elegant border and reveal a master's hand in its painstaking attention to detail. Learn About This Rug Type
