(“New Acquisition Sampling") We are delighted to offer this joyously hued, visually dazzling small room-size "Garden Compartment Carpet” woven by the Central Persian Bakhtiari tribe. Its naive design hides extraordinarily skilled craftsmanship. Like a grand stained glass window, its dense ornamentation presents a wealth of flower motif variations in each of its panels. Many of the elliptical compartments hold wonderfully detailed vases holding flower bouquets with continual variations in color and shape against a masterfully abrashed deep carnelian red background. Subtle differences in the drawing of the cypress trees are framed in the ivory niches. Incredibly luminous tribal wool illuminates a robust color palette to stunning effect. Further delight is expressed through a wide variety of charming bird forms with brightly colored plumage.
