Twitter Instagram Facebook Pinterest(Connoisseur-Caliber) Shimmering with a rich patina of great age, this exquisite, early Laver features the "Garden Compartment" format, inspired by classic Persian garden design. Here, an exotic burgundy cross quadrisects this rug’s field just as transverse waterways were built between rectangular flowering beds. Graphic cypress and fruit trees, elaborate vases, and close-ups of a flowering branch are the subjects captured in the sublime large room size piece. Stemming from the court tradition, its weave is fine and allows for the delicate drawing and subtle accent tones to be appreciated, including along the gracefully decorated border.
