Twitter Instagram Facebook Pinterest(High-Collectible) ("Best-of-the-Best Sold in 2018") This is an astounding, extremely early room size Tabriz carpet that may even predate the Hadji Jallili workshop and give a glimpse at the still more archetypal heritage that influenced this master carpet designer. This is a sublimely elegant carpet that offers an ineffable harmony between delicate complementary colors of indigo, sage green, apricot, teal, ochre, terra cotta, sand, cobalt blue, salmon and sumptuous detail. It offers an extraordinarily finely detailed, profoundly harmonious design of concentric medallion zones with seamless transitions between compositional spaces. An exquisite trefoil rosette provides the understated yet dramatic focal point, giving way in turn to scalloped elliptical medallion, and spacious corner pieces. Although later in the 19th century, the classic Herati pattern became the most common, less technically demanding traditional filler pattern, here it is remarkably complex. Learn About This Rug Type
