(Connoisseur-Caliber) ("New Arrivals Gallery") Known for centuries as the 'Iron Rug of Persia' due to its entirely unique weaving techniques, the Halvai Bijars are much beloved by connoisseurs as functional masterpieces as well as being cultural artifacts that intriguingly blend city-level precision with tribal spontaneity. The elongated tear-drop medallion in this enchanting piece floats on the artfully variegated open field of vermillion. Its poles are magnificently crowned by massive anchor-shaped pendants, themselves curiously adorned with amorphous bird figures dangling suspended at their points. The color palette is compelling, with rarely used shades of emerald and jade green gently accenting the earthy red, while the brilliant, luminous gold merrily contrasts. Abrash, the masterful use of tonal variations, enhances every aspect of the composition and ranges from subtle textural shifts to sudden dramatic shifts. The emptiness of the red reserve contrasts with the abundance of the golden spandrel frame, depicting a great lattice work adorned with a seemingly unending variety of flowering plants and bouquets. The entrancing beauty of intentional asymmetries and irregularities, much beloved by the tribal weavers, abounds throughout the composition. Tiniest ornaments whimsically fill some of the empty spaces. The main border, filled with grand palmettes and flowering blossoms, is the same vermillion hue as the field, lending a sophisticated, calming effect to the overall ambiance. The rich artistry and captivating palette will appeal to the connoisseur's eye. Combined with its heavy pile, this endearing carpet will make an especially impactful statement in a significant corridor.
