(High-Decorative)
Dramatic contrasts and a deeply saturated palette of exotic, glowing hues bring an irresistibly powerful aesthetic. Fusing the more casual weaving style of Malayer with the elegant designs from Sarouk, the weaver of this winsome piece seemed to delight in finding a harmonious balance between traditions. Luxe native hues are significantly enhanced by the irrepressible glow of woolen pile from top-quality origin softened by the patina of great age. An exotic red field holds a painterly version of the prized Mina Khani pattern. Its willowy implied latticework interconnects bold and quiet blossoms that ebb and flow into the infinite space of the rosy jasper field. The measured rhythm of the crisply rendered border design provides a graceful, steady framing on a luminous ground of royal blue, shifting to sky blue in a subtle treat for the eye. Its extremely fine knotting extenuates each detail throughout.
