("New Arrivals Gallery") This robust, antique Caucasian rug from the higher eleveations boasts clear architectural lines and a highly sought after spaciousness. The asymmetrically ornamented medallions, based in apple green and the bottom in royal blue, enclose carefully drawn inner reserves of ivory and a scattering of rams-horn motifs. These superb design elements seamlessly combine with a rich and eloquently restrained palette. Its sumptuous carnelian red ground features a pair of square medallions, vertically arranged to nearly fill the field, each with niches on their horizontal edges. An intricate checkerboard square guarded by ram’s horns make for mesmerizing centerpieces. The remainder of the background displays several spaciously placed square ram’s-horn emblems, 'Diamonds of Strength,' and 'Wheels of Life' to complete the inner reserve. The crisp ivory main border displays a series of chiseled, gently animated polychrome starflowers. This fantastic tribal art piece remains in heavier pile condition.
