("New Arrivals Gallery") Isfahan carpets are renowned for their exceptionally fine knot structure, high-quality weaving materials, and artisans inspired by poetry and the complex beauty of nature. A faceted escutcheon medallion in mocha features a lively floral cluster with palm tree-like blossoms, delicate vine work, and elaborate, blossoming palmettes that appear to flow forth from the center motif into the rug's golden background, further refined through the use of abrash, the word for artistic tonal variations within the same color, to provide scope and dimension. This masterful technique is also used to subtly and suddenly change the overall red hues from crimson to ruby and magenta at the bottom. Also, notice the intrepid streaking used at the top of the border to achieve an ethereal effect. Overall, the sumptuously rich palette results from the unfathomably skilled dye makers, and their luster is heightened by superb wool quality. Happily, its condition remains superb with even, medium pile. This rug is simply a pleasure to behold.
