("New Arrivals Gallery") The uninhibited beauty of nature is reflected in this glorious over-size carpet, joyously rendered through an extraordinary technical feat of planning, weaving prowess, and virtuoso dye-work. Its markedly graphic Arts and Crafts stained glass visual paradigm is a chiseled garden theme, with its lush botanical elements carefully folded and tucked into every niche while preserving a visual spaciousness. Darkly outlined sturdy vines grow from a conjoined double medallion layered over a gossamer background where flowering tendrils seem to appear out of the ether. Carnations that are both lithe and robust fill the scalloped royal blue spandrels. The transcendental gardenscape continues in a series of borders that are exquisite realms in their own right. Still in fabulous condition at 130-140 years old, its light patina attests to its cherished status among its previous owners, enhancing the visual feast in dimensions not readily found in the global marketplace.
