This quintessential early 20th-century Dabir Kashan exudes grace and elegance with its uber-realistic, highly articulated paradisical garden of abundant blossoms. A faceted teardrop medallion with an array of pendant flower palmettes rests at the center of a myriad of flowerheads in a range of sizes, creating a sense of three dimensionality. The Dabir workshop existed from the mid-19th century into the 1930’s, after which their famed Manchester wool was no longer available, and they were renowned for producing some of the finest Court rugs. In this circa 1920 Kashan, the Manchester wool offers a velvet touch and a luster that enhances the impressive color palette. The stained-glass-like colors include a brilliant vermillion, vibrant azure blue, peach, jade green, and midnight blue. Its superb condition and distinguished character make this charming, petite, room-sized Kashan ideal for a formal setting.
