(High-Collectible) This 150-year-old antique Senneh masterwork offers the deeply time-softened colors and inimitable patina only found in area size rugs of tremendous age, along with extremely desirable, virtually never seen dimensions. A continually nuanced allover pattern presents 18 rows of finely rendered boteh ("Seed of Life" motifs), which create a mesmerizing rhythm, with each slight variation revealing the spontaneous artistry of a master weaver. The previous owner was an ardent admirer of this virtuoso Persian rug and displayed it on the wall of the master bedroom suite of their Italian home for many years.
