Its sophisticated repeated "Bird and Vase" pattern (look closely to see the extremely delicately rendered bird forms against the burnished gold field) includes evocative hues of coral, teal, khaki and leaf green, dramatizing its rhythmic latticework design. This extremely rare High-Collectible rug was woven some 170 years ago in an era that supported great artistic exploration and sublime colors in its weavers.
