This highly sophisticated rug woven some 140 years ago in the Afshar tribal village of Niriz is certain to fascinate through its repeating design drawn with pinpoint detail work. Its offers an astonishing level of sharpness, with every nuanced boteh (stylized paisley-like motif) and flowerhead rendered in precise, crystalline detail. Luminescent wool causes colors to shine with undiminished intensity, enhancing both the rug's densely ornamented field and its painstakingly detailed repeated rose blossom main border with glowing shades of coral, apricot, sand and indigo. Belying its tribal roots, painstaking craftsmanship imparts an absorbing, individualistic quality, coupled with outstanding condition.
