Its majestic size, extremely unique design and uncommon ivory field color all indicate that it was commissioned by a significant patron of Persian carpets. Known as a town carpet, this exceptional, collectible Ferahan corridor carpet is the production of highly skilled artisans working from a loose design, rather than a knot-by-knot cartoon. This gave them ample creative license to imbue its stately dimensions with soaring beauty, whimsy, and tremendous attention to each individualized detail.
