In this completely original, wonderfully lyrical, antique Persian Laver Kirman, an elaborate allover pattern of incredibly finely rendered, unique teardrop medallions with fluted edges presents an intriguing shift of positive and negative space. Each alternating medallion encloses artful blossoming trees or intricate floral arrangements.This regal rug demonstrates superb craftsmanship and materials, with extremely fine knotting, wonderfully saturated dyes and luminous wool. At nearly 150 years old, this 10-1/2 x 14 antique carpet remains in wonderful condition.
