(High-Decorative)
An inventive fusion of floral court influences with geometric tribal patterns results in this charming full-pile village rug from Bibikabad, in the Malayer region of Persia. A key-hole-shaped deep indigo field filled with the classical Herati pattern that enclosed an ivory-based stepped diamond medallion dramatically touches the top and bottom borders. This "island" medallion seems imbedded in its gorgeous warm carnelian red surround which is filled with the tribal boteh design, the symbol of the ‘Seed of Life. Close inspection of its deceptively wide-ranging palette reveals salmon, coral and melon, celadon and forest green, and a full spectrum of blues from powder to midnight indigo.
