("New Arrivals Gallery") The extraordinarily restrained palette of delicate pastel hues and mesmerizing layers of color striation throughout the field are an eloquent expression of the artistic heights reached by the 19th century Hadji Jallili workshop in Tabriz. In this 150-year-old Persian carpet, extensive use of powder to sky blue gives it much of its ethereal quality, while a pronounced delicacy of line and weave adds to the refinement of each pinpoint botanical motif. Elegant, impressionistic waves of abrash in the dark melon-toned field create a profound sense of subtle movement as they wash past the resplendent blossom medallion to create a vision of extraordinary beauty.
