This 140-year-old Persian Ferahan is a superb example of this inimitable town weaving style (as opposed the Ferahan Sarouk carpet of different construction) renowned for its extraordinary detail. Boasting shimmering jewel tones and superb condition, the expansive field holds a pair of lobed medallions, that along with the quarter-medallions in the corners, provide alluring contrast both in color and design. Effusive rose blossoms, at once dramatically stylized and individually crafted, present dazzling bouquets of crimson and apple green that by comparison ingeniously emphasize the pinpoint knotting. A narrow border suite frames the field quietly, allowing the interior splendor of this masterful rug to shine.
