("New Arrivals Gallery") This soaring, nearly 150-year-old Caucasian Seichur Kuba is a standout, offering a splendiferous palette of richly dyed colors and an extraordinarily remarkable clarity of drawing. The traditional, commanding St. Andrews Cross patterning is ingeniously softened by an uncharacteristic array of floral rather than geometric elements. All motifs unfold with perfectly planned symmetry and order: every detail is carefully silhouetted. The exciting twin "eagle's head" borders are especially clear and precise. An astonishingly palette reveals accents of deep green, soft aquamarine blue and clear saffron yellow, utilized in the most evocative color juxtaposition. Its superb condition reflects the great level of care this treasure has always received.
