("New Arrivals Gallery") This one-of-a-kind village rug, woven some 125 years ago in one of the umpteen tiny villages of Northwest Persia demonstrates this rich, multi-cultural region’s many rug weaving influences. These include pattern ideas from the Caucasus, the village of Bakshaish and the town of Bijar. A cornucopia of naturally dyed colors including burnished gold, ivory, navy and cornflower blues will continually delight the eye of the viewer. The many minor borders shift through exotic patterns all building up to a crescendo with their framing of an enchanting open reserve of rich crimson red. This is an ideal piece for a budding rug aficionado, which would display with equal drama on the floor or hung as wall art.
