(High-Decorative) Extremely dexterous palette choices and the astonishing patina of over a century of age bring an understated, ethereally light presence to this mesmerizing antique Persian Tabriz piece. Stirring tones of apricot, coral, ochre and terracotta coexist with soft sand and the lightest goldenrod tones, each bringing a different part of precise, mixed-scale Herati patterning to life. By sensitively bringing together the best of medallion and allover design formats in its adventurous series of nested hexagonal forms, the weaver had redoubled the cohesion and harmoniousness of these intricate designs, and introduced a very compelling sense of depth.
