Signed by the noted "Khasati Brothers" workshop. this wonderfully preserved oversize carpet demonstrates the regality and great diversity of the work of the city of Kirman, the most prolific Persian centers for the weaving of oversize and palace rugs during the 1800s and early 1900s. This stunning carpet with its mesmerizing marine blue field was conceived to be a captivating statement in a grand expanse. Its grand center medallion on an open field format offers magnificent viewing from afar and its exquisite, pinpoint botanical detail ensures great enjoyment upon close examination. It is very finely woven and its lanolin-rich wool remains in heavy pile condition, allowing this majestic 12x17 carpet to be used as the underlayment for an area used for frequent entertaining.
