(High-Collectible) Uncovering superb early examples of the elite Bakshaish style for our ever-widening group of clients who relish them is a particularly ambitious challenge. Thus, we proudly present this unabashedly high-spirited over the 150-year-old carpet. The grand scale of its magical, evocative geometric field pattern is masterfully balanced by an exceedingly dexterous stylized floral repeat in the wide border. Underscoring the celebratory nature of this large carpet is its delightful palette of lively mid-tones. Its colors are astonishing, especially the radiant cornflower to deep blue of its field and the coral base of its main border. The stylized palmettes surrounded by abstracted, asymmetrically rendered vinery of the field is a quite unique pattern, and like its border motifs, is drawn with a whimsically freeform character. This unusually squarish carpet is a very good, quite floor-worthy condition, with medium to moderate pile and some expertly rendered repiling. Learn About This Rug Type
