(“Fall/Winter New Arrivals Event“) Very hard to find, but exciting to see are early examples of the exquisitely fine knotting that was used in the most expressive antique Lesghi rugs. To mesmerizing effect this tour-de-force piece presents a pair of Lesghi Star symbols separated by large Ram’s Horn motifs from the Perpidil tradition that hold the central position in the field along with four golden dragon forms. This completely original, powerful pattern reveals an unexpected mid-tone color palette including a blush and a soft rose for the star motifs and alluring hues of cerulean blue, fawn yellow, and pine green. The virtuoso 7-border suite exerts a magnetism that is equally astounding in its mind-boggling clarity.
