("New Arrivals Gallery")We are elated to present one the earliest pieces in the cherished Laver Kirman style we have ever had the privilege to handle. Employing freehand drawing of its organic eight-lobed sunburst medallion and four exotic corner piece motif, its deeply inventive, supremely harmonious artistry demonstrates why the virtually never seen examples of such great age are so prized. The patterns of its continually changing botanically themed antique-based field and border suite are drawn with seemingly effortless dexterity and virtuoso use of continual asymmetry. The rug’s regal, very seldom-encountered palette, including mulberry, celadon, turquoise, lavender, and rose, enhances its deeply enveloping atmosphere of quiet lyricism. When displayed as wall art, this over two-centuries-old piece is thoroughly entrancing.
