(Connoisseur-Caliber) ("New Arrivals Gallery") The very finest 19th century Serapis such as this consummately-crafted palace-size in unfathomably good condition reflect a breathtaking level of originality and, at the same time, unerring aesthetic balance. Here a notably elongated reserve is commanded by an exceptionally mesmerizing medallion of original design. Its vibrant brick red field features, instead of Serapi overscale stylized blossoms, a varied assemblage of surprisingly finely drawn, floating slender flowers on long stems. Four corner spandrels are based in an iridescent deep sapphire blue and highlight an array of beautifully articulated, exotic leaves and flowering plants. The rug’s artistic inspiration extends to the main border that is uniquely based is a rich gilded hue. Learn About This Rug Type
