("New Arrivals Gallery") It is entirely safe to say we have never seen another design like this before! It is a remarkably individual expression with a vivid sense of spontaneity as if it were created with brush strokes. The effect is liberating. The movement captured in the border is palpable, the effect of the charming latticework in the center mellowing. Wow! A closer look reveals that the top horizontal border forms a dragon, while the rest of the foliage framing the rug becoming leafy serpentine vines. Bakshaish weavers seldom attempted tight latticeworks, but the variation within the pattern and colors here is unmistakable and utterly delightful, conveying the constant change found in nature. Happily, this rug is in extraordinarily good, heavier pile condition.
