(Connoisseur-Caliber) ("New Arrivals Gallery")This little gem is part of a more rarely found offshoot of the Bakshaish tradition: endearing rugs measuring 4x6 or smaller. This charmingly squarish piece presents a very developed aesthetic sense, offering commingling abash striation, a unique transparent medallion, an inspired border suite, and an unusual dedication to precision. The effect is extremely striking and novel. Partially the result of this traditionís deep knowledge of the blue dyestuff in their area which produced a multitude of shadings, a masterís work on a small scale is on display here. The deeply rhythmical borders reveal two different meanders, a completely original patterning that is mesmerizing in itself. It is perfect for a small space or to be hung as wall art.
