The glistening, midnight indigo teardrop medallion with flowers encrusted like gems over its surface introduces this magnificent and yet sensitively rendered, finely knotted carpet. The esteemed Ferahan Sarouk tradition was responsible for a conjugation between the Persian floral aesthetic of the cities and towns and the geometric tradition of the village and tribal drawing. Here exemplifying this tradition’s striking artistry, queenly majesty is expressed in the precision of the crème reserve and the eloquent blush of the field’s corners, all amid a constantly changing array of individually festooned boughs. Happily, this stellar carpet is in in outstanding condition.
