(High-Decorative) ("New Arrivals Gallery") Demonstrating that there was still tremendously dexterous rug-makers at work at the start of the 20th century is this painstakingly detailed, ebullient Persian Isfahan rug that demonstrates great mastery of the revered ‘Tree of Life’ design while offering an immersive, idealistic depiction of the natural world. It hosts an array of realistically rendered exotic birds of great variety, including a pair of wonderfully intimate waterfowl in a small pond filled with multi-colored fish at the bottom of its field. Architectural elements abound, from the columned archway supporting an ornate lantern to the structural framework where grape bunches hang. Resplendent, expertly dyed colors, including a rare and exquisite deep amethyst, teal, bronze, burnished gold, and rich shades of apricot fill each etched bough and frond, layered sensitively for realism. Crisp flowing lines of the design are the reflection of an extraordinarily fine weave. Learn About This Rug Type
