(Connoisseur-Caliber) ("New Arrivals Gallery")Art-level Bakshaish village rugs exhibit a singular folk art quality that sets them apart from all other Persian room size rugs. Even when interpreting the Herati lattice pattern, a design that virtually every weaver learns how to create, the rendering is fresh and dynamic. Here the Herati template virtually leaps off of the aged ivory field due to a splendid array of spirited, naturally derived colors. The main border offers a spacious presentation of the centuries-old, signature design from nearby Karaja, replete with fanciful rosettes in crimson, coral, walnut, and bright gold that further vivify this expressive piece. Its squarish, larger than most area size dimensions are a notable characteristic, as is its heavy-pile condition, offering many decades of use. Learn About This Rug Type
