(Connoisseur-Caliber) ("New Arrivals Gallery") This celebrative rug is an adventurous, entirely successful experiment, expertly merging three different Ferahan themes into a cohesive, delightful tour de force. In other examples, the central ‘Sunburst’ disc is featured with bisected sunbursts at the top and bottom, but here it is presented as a single fiery orb. Another Ferahan diamond medallion design, filled with polychromatic roundels wonderfully arrayed in a rainbow fashion, is split, and appears at the top and bottom of the field, with both halves pointing outward. The third rug theme is the elaborate, repeated bouquet-and-bowl motif. With the field designs floating on camelhair and the floral arrangements in soft silhouette against undyed sheep wool, the result is an implicitly joyful, inventive, lighter-toned art rug that would enliven a broad range of home decors on floor or wall.
