(Connoisseur-Caliber)
This ebullient 19th century Caucasian Shirvan is a vivid study of what fun a skilled, albeit comedic weaver can have with her creation! At the very bottom, she drew a modified Karagashli serrated device and at above it a beautiful stepped diamond medallion. But with the introduction of the centrally placed weaver’s comb, something happened, and she decided to “jump the box” of the Shirvan formatting. Another comb appears, and then a newly conceived filling of the center diamond. At the top, the grand serrated rectangular motif, four times the size of the bottom one, crowns the field, encapsulating a radiantly faceted mega-jewel, its smaller alter ego at the bottom. Similarly comedic, the bottom border design switches from checkboard interiors to flower faces until the top. The inner accent border is only used along the sides, and the cheerful, outer diamond one gets unceremoniously squished at the top!
