(High-Decorative) This inventive over 130-year-old Ferahan fully exhibits the convergence of Ferahan and Sarouk styles already in motion at the time of its weaving, merging more stylized botanical elements with the finer weave of early Ferahan rugs. Of note is the free-drawn circular medallion with its luminous lotus medallion blossom. The yellow ochre to golden sand reserve is rippled with delicate abrash tonal shifts that set off the "organized wanderings" of the inventive botanical motifs, represented in many scales and types, that invites further discovery. The rug’s unusual black walnut-hued main border with its classic palmettes, stylized blossoms, and network of filigree vinery provide the perfect chromatic complement to the rug’s autumnal palette. An altogether individual piece, it is happily still in extremely good floor condition with even medium pile.
