An especially handsome 120-year-old folkloric carpet expertly crafted in the beloved rug-making center of Heriz features a chiseled architectural medallion with huge blue flame pendants along the vertical axis. The dreamlike botanical imagery in the field is given ample space, enhancing the drama of this compellingly artful carpet. Finessed handling of the dye work and masterful color coordination achieved the magically-hued palette, ranging from aquamarine to azure and arctic blue, soft strawberry, and coral reds with accents of rose quartz, celadon greens, and chestnut. Unusually and emotively, wheat and mocha hues fill the corner spandrels. A gentle shifting of these colorways enhances its appeal. This seamless proficiency carries over to the fittingly narrow main border, with some of the oak leaves showing softly while others sizzle. Its lush pile is another allure.
