("New Arrivals Gallery") Only very rarely these days do we uncover Serapi carpets of such artistic gravity and superlative workmanship, in such fantastic condition. In an absolutely electrifying, seldom-seen Serapi format, what would normally be intertwined stylized vinery, has become the vestiges of the eastern Celestial Dragon’s essence. The transparent, carpet-sized structure, with an elemental altar-like flower at the center, creates the impression of a four-petalled medallion, that is simultaneously a compelling allover pattern. Empyrean, early Serapi tones of blue and soft rose set against a deep sapphire blue ground, is spectacular but seldom encountered. Blush-toned, partially exposed overscale palmettes occupy spandrels in the four corners, hinting that their grandeur expands beyond the cornsilk-colored frame.
