(High-Collectible) A consummate example, this Hadji Jallili Tabriz offers a level of artistry and skill that garnered for this classical Persian weaving center its stellar reputation. Its highly faceted 'shamsa' medallion provides a luminous focus, encircled in ivory with blooming vines and fluid contours. The field comes to life with a dazzling floral assemblage of cobalt oak leaves, flame-shaped palmettes, fan-like blossoms, and tangerine star flowers, among a diversity of inventively detailed verdure. Supporting this fecundity, the warm copper reserve is sensitively balanced by secondary shades of lapis, amaranth, and aged ivory. Four intricately woven borders and as many accent stripes augment the grandeur of the field with their ornate detail. This courtly carpet is in exceedingly good condition with top-quality lanolin-rich wool pile and a lightly patinated, shimmering surface.
