("New Arrivals Gallery") From the Shishboluki (Six clans) sub-tribe of the larger Qashqai confederation comes this more rare all-over patterned tour-de-force. Within a jewel-shaped hexagon, a wealth of flower forms are precisely rendered and placed along slender branches, presenting a staggering diversity of species observed from nature that is neither chaotic nor overly uniform. Irrepressibly vivacious, they seem to gently sway as though graced by a springtime breeze. Requiring virtuoso finesse to achieve the finely rippled midnight sapphire ground shimmers with dimensionality through an adept abrash technique. The Qashqai's signature crimson red appears in the corner pieces where the sense of movement among the floating assemblage of flowerheads continues. At over 160 years old and with excellent condition reflecting careful handling through the entire period, this surprisingly refined nomadic rug is a true tribal gem.
