This deeply inspired, flawlessly executed Ferahan Sarouk exemplifies this style's best spectacular dye work, striking color combining, and tremendous clarity of design. An ornately embellished radial medallion floats above the subtly textured negative space of the reserve extending into crownlike pendants. This lively yet balanced portrait is the fertile starting ground where inventive botanical flourishes await discovery. The extremely rare palette has midnight indigo, bright parchment, jadeite, glowing burnt orange, and saffron gold contribute to a surprisingly contemporary high contrast color structure. A primary border of peony flowerheads and sweeping garlands appears to be in motion coursing around the field. Tiny totemic figures are hidden in the verdure alluding to distant tribal origins. Happily in extraordinary condition, this winsome art rug will effortlessly foster a majestic character to the home for one lucky owner.
