(Connoisseur-Caliber) This visually stunning Hadji Jallili Tabriz presents a nesting jewel-shaped medallion and field pattern that is an elegant interpretation of the Herati design (an implied repeating diamond latticework encircled by stylized leaves), which is expertly rendered with pinpoint precision. At first glance, its understated, earthy color combination would make a supreme compliment to the exotic woods employed in contemporary design. Upon closer inspection, subtle difficult-to-dye hues of celadon slowly emerge while lemon yellow and royal blue punctuate the pinpoint precise pattern without dominating the eye. Paralleled by eight mirror image minor bands, the frieze-like primary border borrows its design from neighboring Northwest Persian traditions. This incredibly finely knotted carpet would be a boon for whatever space it inhabits. Its wonderful condition makes it at once practical and elegant.
