(High-Decorative) This imaginative, masterfully woven Persian Kashan Garden Rug daringly departs from run-of-the-mill representatives of the style, combining a superb balance of naturally dyed color and hand-crafted design with crystal-clear, nearly three-dimensional imagery. An ornate vase supports a spray of two-toned roses admired by four feathered friends. Amidst a shower of blossoms, two smaller vessels contain bouquets shaded by shrubs engaged with the vertical edges. Higher above, a further potential cascade of dark cerulean florets appears to be held back by two perching passerines. The garden grounds, upper spandrels, pedestals, and even the shrub tops resemble tightly patterned Persian tile motifs in a union of the arts with both the abstract and representational successfully woven together. This rug's titillating color palette is vast, inventive, and perfectly harmonious. Every hue within this wonderland in bloom appears to have been created with pigments derived from crushed gemstones. In this case, it was unnecessary, as the now-lost dye recipes used a variety of natural plant sources to achieve this luminous glow. This versatile full-pile area-size rug is a visual tour-de-force, greatly enhanced by exceptionally lustrous wool appropriate for special floor placement or as entrancing wall art.
