This joyful room-size Serapi offers an exceedingly beautiful allover pattern known as 'Mina Khani' as an alternative to the more often seen medallion format traditional to this style of carpet and is glorious in both color and design. An unusual pattern to find in a Serapi, it presents a network of lotus blossoms viewed from different angles, interconnected by an organically contoured latticework of vinery. One of the fascinating aspects of this botanical display is that no part appears compressed or crowded but has the sense of complete freedom to be fully expressed. Creating a celebrative and casual elegance through the use of rich sunset reds, buoyant blues, emerald greens, and camel tones, all highlighted by ivory, this piece is both classic and avant-garde. A relatively narrow frame allows the interior to be enjoyed in depth. As another triumph from the Persian Northwest Village tradition, this carpet carries tremendous artistic relevance for distinctive home display and boasts extreme durability with very good pile condition.
