("New Arrivals Gallery") Another stellar example of Bakshaish diversity is this magnetic area rug, which is an impressively clear artistic expression from this acclaimed village weaving group, something that can only be arrived at through a mature command of form and color. On a golden ochre field, a fiery cypress form is cradled by ivory vinery and is the energetic source of the surrounding vegetation. Two bifurcated emerald trees engage with the edge of the field in the upper section. Each richly stylized blossom is rendered with individualized attention that invites the eye to explore variations between blossoming petals (how long will it take you to notice the birds nestled within?) or study the dexterous juxtaposition of hues from an exuberant palette. This concert of color is presented in sparkling jewel tones, the result of innumerable generations of now virtually lost knowledge passed down from parent to child. Marvelous heavier pile condition has been retained due to this unique rug's careful construction from rugged mountain wool.
