("New Arrivals Gallery") A perennially beloved style from the Persian Sarouk region that emerged in the early 20th century is known for its glistening surface that is amazingly soft to the touch. In the exciting, rarely made size of 5x7, this stunning, luxurious piece offers a dramatic spectrum of harmonious jewel tones. A spacious, shimmering midnight indigo blue field of great visual depth supports the lush botanical structures that radiate from a feathery central lotus blossom. A remarkable sense of harmony flourishes as incorrigible floral bouquets in the border pay no attention to perceived constraints, slowly emerging into the field. Skillfully wrought colors ranging from cerulean, burnished gold, cinnabar, platinum, and richly textured coral and apricot hues are supported by the inky expanse and enliven every leaf, stem, and petal through careful application by the weaver. Gracefully balanced with fluidly executed asymmetry, this over-century-old rug remains in heavy pile condition and is destined to grace the home of its lucky new owner for decades to come.
