(High-Collectible) We are very pleased to include in our offerings this High-Collectible mid-19th-century nomad rug from the Central Asian Beshir sub-tribe of the Turkoman people. Their rugs as a whole were known for a fine knotting, rich madder red field, and totemic geometric designs. Where later Turkoman carpets became quite ordered and repetitive, early pieces explored infinite variations within their pattern language. Abrash abounds amid the skillful interplay of rare teal, cobalt, sapphire, royal and sky blue hues that complement the pervasive old brick main color. Its soft pile, intact kilim ends, and original selvedges complete this Beshir long rug’s admirable attributes of collectability. Learn About This Rug Type
