At the incredibly early age of over 175 years, this awe-inspiring Tabriz carpet offers an exceptionally clear and magnificently expressed center-medallion-on-an-open-field design. Extremely sharp definition, the product of its exceptionally fine knotting, and intense drama are generated
in part by boldly juxtaposed zones of memorable color. Creating this unusual dynamic, graphic outlines emphasize the divides between the subtly, yet continually abrashed copper ground and parchment areas hosting taupe and Prussian blue hues. Yet, delicacy is also present as the major patterns are filled with the tiniest of flowers and leaf forms. The exquisite main border featuring haunting Prussian and ice blues as its base tone enhances the lyrical atmosphere. The great delicacy of the patterning in the secondary border suite further demonstrates its weavers’ tremendous mastery of their craft. Learn About This Rug Type
